I have been blessed to see different facets of her poetry unfold. There is a sincerity laced within her persona that finds its way into her writing. Even the pieces which speak of yearning and unrequited love are gentle. Inviting. Believable. Relatable.

In her own words…

If you were to ask Celine to describe herself, she would tell you that she’s just a simple girl “WITH NOTHING MUCH TO TELL”. But ask her write and she will unknowingly show you how deep she is.

A sufferer of Bipolar depression, she had to learn to channel her moods through words and through her work as a freelance massage therapist. “I LOOK AT EVERYTHING IN ART FORM..EVERYTHING..I HAD TO LEARN AT LEAST, BUT THAT’S HOW OR JUST ONE WAY I NOW COPE”.

But writing became her favorite because it allowed her to go to places that she sometimes would never take herself. All these years as she gave therapy to others, along the way she found out that writing was hers. It started to be a relief for her depression, for the tears she could not explain and the love she felt.

One of my favorite pieces she dedicated to her Grandfather’s battle with cancer…

She loves reading and now writing. There was (and still is) so much for her to let go, there were so much emotional doors she felt the need to open, even though some doors remain closed; but poetry became the next best thing.

And then there was the time we collaborated…

Her brain told her that she had to share it with others; because a lot of individuals told her she was strong for surviving all the she had been through. She needed fresh eyes to see {how frail is and} other parts of her personality.

Alas…another one of my favorites…
