Yep. She’s on my team. You got next but I got her. Nicole Campo is a force like no other and being one of her students and fans is not for the faint of heart. “Why?”, you ask? Because raw emotion coupled with demonstrated intellect quickly weeds out the smug pretenders. That. That is why she’s one of my poetry homegirls. Let’s tune in with one of my favorites:

She speaks…

I don’t consider myself a writer. I’m just a girl who loves to manipulate and tailor words to fit real life experiences. In my 37 years on this planet, I’ve endured a plethora of emotions, and some seriously heart wrenching situations. I know I’m not alone, and to have the ability to express myself through the power of words, makes my heart smile, especially when another human being can relate. Although I’ve indulged in writing from an early age, I’ve dedicated more time as of late. It cleanses my spirit. Soul searching via writing has always been cathartic. It heals. One word at a time. 

Eh…37 yesterday. 38 today! April 24th is an international holiday but of course! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL!! (cue another favorite piece of mine…)
