#WRITERCRUSHWEDNESDAY! MEET IG POET @stacie.martin!

When I first launched the #WriterCrushWednesday series, I gave an open call where everyone had fair chance to introduce themselves. It was however, equally important to reach out to more established poets that I admired from afar. Stacie Martin is one of those writers. With well over 50,000 Instagram followers, Stacie was incredibly gracious when I contacted her. Gifted as well as beautiful inside and out, she was an absolute joy to work with on this feature!

In her own words…

My name is Stacie Martin. I’ve been addicted to the written word since I can remember. I am a mother to three wonderful daughters. I work with youth which is my passion, and dream job. I come from a big family, and grew up in a small town on the island of Newfoundland.

She shares two of her favorite pieces…

Self Love

I needed to be gentle,

in order to have peace.

I needed to be peaceful,

in order to have patience.

I needed to be patient,

in order to have love.

So I’ve started to be

very gentle with myself.

Little Girls

A woman

who knows her worth

and loves all that she is,

paves a path

of empowerment

for the little girls

looking up to her.

And a few more of my favorites from her collection…
